From Book to Movie to Live Musical

Two theatre shows to beat the January blues 💙

Got tickets to see Matilda the Musical from Theatre Roulette, at £30 per ticket just choose the date (Matinee/Evening) and number of tickets then you'll find out which tickets you win before the booking day. You can even cross off some shows that you have seen/are not interested. It was my second time buying from the site - you won't expect the best of seats (I haven't tried topping up to £50/ticket for stall seats) but it adds a fun element to your theatre plan if you don't have a preference of what you want to see!

Obviously the plot follows the Ronald Dahl book - but I love how the musical adaptation is so well-designed. From the stage set to the coherence in the music - references to spelling and alphabets, and how there is a song called "Loud" and another called "Quiet" etc. The children were amazing, we had the pleasure to see Sophie Saravanan as Matilda - my highlights were definitely the "School Song" and "Revolting Children" acts!

Then we went to see The Devil Wears Prada two weeks later - the new musical features music by Elton John and Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly. The West End Andy and Emily reminded me so much of the characters from the 2006 movie - Emily did an amazing job, and so did Nigel! The show itself was a visual and musical sensation, but let's not forget about the transformation of the Dominion Theatre into a Runway showroom!

"By all means move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me."
