First attempt to complete a dual-colour Macrame cushion cover using a DMC kit. The instructions were easy to follow and the pattern turns out lovely with alternating Khaki and Cream yarn. I decided not to do a double-sided macrame pattern and instead sewed the front piece onto a cotton plain cushion cover in a matching cream colour.
Took me about 4 days (a couple hours per day) - and some last minute shopping for the cushion cover and needle - to complete this piece. Stuffed the cushion cover with some polyfiber filling from my Amigurumi projects and this new cushion is now looking good on my beige sofa!
Tips:
If you don't have a macrame hanging rod, it may be tricky to try to pin/stick your yarn onto the wall. I ended up using a laundry drying rack to hang the piece while working through the pattern
Although the macrame pattern is stretchable, measure the size of your piece as you are making it to make sure you have the right sized cushion cover that will fit perfectly. For me, a 100-cord (50 pieces of yarn) pattern with a No.4 yarn is perfect for a 40cm cushion cover
