Had a lovely time at London Calligraphy's beginner (Sep 2023) and intermediate (Nov 2023) Modern Calligraphy courses hosted by Katie - just in time for Christmas gift tags and cards!
Katie would always welcome us at The Art Workers' Guild with a beautifully set table, personalised place cards - and food! When it comes to modern calligraphy, she would always tell us to "learn the rules and then break them" LOL
And after the 2-hour workshops all participants would leave with a set of stationery including a pen holder, a nib, ink, practice paper, learning brochure, and a personalised rose!
About London Callgraphy's In-Person Courses:
In the beginner course, we learned how to hold a pen, work with nibs and ink, and write basic alphabets and words. In the intermediate course, we worked through letter joining, flourishing, and writing in metallic watercolours using an oblique nib holder. Highly recommend the course for anyone who is looking to explore ink calligraphy. Check out the courses here!

Nikko G nib (I bought some extras at CN Square while I was in HK, https://www.chungnamhk.hk)
Straight/oblique pen holder (I find it easier to work with an oblique one as a right-hander)
Higgins Eternal black ink
Gansai gold metallic watercolour (intermediate only)
